چکیده

The emergence of millimeter-wave based technologies is pushing the deployment 5th generation mobile communications (5G), on potential to achieve multi-gigabit and low-latency wireless links. Part this breakthrough was only possible with introduction small antenna arrays, capable form highly directional electronically steerable beams. This strategy allowed overcoming some drawbacks, but a higher price: re-design lower layers by introducing beamforming techniques. impact these changes not well studied layers, in most recent stacks (IEEE 802.11ad, 3GPP). Thus, study real deployments use accurate network simulators play key role, enabling test complex large-scale scenarios. article presents component missing simulation mmWave networks, blockage model. To best our knowledge, first model that emulates effects obstacles Additionally, codebook phased array, Quasi-Deterministic (Q-D) channel also presented. All models are tested compared an outdoor using IEEE 802.11ad standard. simulated real-life tests show similar results, average error for worst case 2.43% (index ranges) 4.51% (distance), standard deviation about 1.33dBm 2.26dBm.

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

Gallium Phosphide IMPATT Sources for Millimeter-Wave Applications

The potentiality of millimter-wave (mm-wave) double-drift region (DDR) impact avalanche transit time (IMPATT) diodes based on a wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor material, Gallium Phosphide (GaP) has been explored in this paper. A non-sinusoidal voltage excited (NSVE) large-signal simulation method has been used to study the DC and high frequency characteristics of DDR GaP IMPATTs dsigned to ope...

Observations on real-time simulation design and experimentation

Modeling and simulation provides a convenient way for evaluating operability of designed systems (e.g., Network-onChip) in their desired target environments. Where applicable, real-time modeling with real-time simulation extends logicaltime M&S capabilities by evaluating the degree to which system requirements can be satisfied in actual operational scenarios. Simulations can be directly observe...

Real-time feedback control of millimeter-wave polarization for LHD.

Electron cyclotron heating (ECH) is widely used in magnetic fusion devices, and the polarization of the injected millimeter-wave beams plays a crucial role in the propagation and absorption of the beam energy by the plasma. This polarization can be adjusted by grating mirror polarizers placed in the transmission lines which carry the microwaves from the power source to the plasma. In long-pulse...
